A 12-year-old pastoralist, Muhammad Muhammad, has lost his two hands following an alleged attack by farmers in Mayaki village in Lapai Local Council of Niger State. The boy was allegedly attacked when he went out on grazing with cattle at Kpashimi forest on November 8, but the cattle returned home without him. Spokesperson for the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident, said a cattle owner from Mayaki village reported the case at Lapai Division on November 9. Abiodun said the cattle owner went in search of the boy with his brother and found him on the ground with his two hands cut off beside a farm around the said forest. He added that police operatives attached to Lapai Division immediately rushed to the scene, and rescued the boy to Lapai General Hospital for medical attention. According to him, one Jafaru Yunusa of Kpashimi village, a farmer around the forest, has been arrested in connection with the crime, while two others are presently at large. He said e

15-year-old girl raped on beach in Naples

Her gaze was empty, her beautiful smile gone. Her long brown hair, previously in a chignon, was straggly and ruffled. As she ran back to her friends, she could hear behind her the sniggers of her attackers, only slightly older than her, but whose slender physiques made them look much younger.  At the “scoglione” beach in Marechiaro, on Sunday, a 15-year-old girl Petrarca was attacked by a 17-year-old and two-16-year-olds from the Capodichino and Forcella districts of Naples, now charged with sexual assault.  The state prosecutor at the juvenile court, Francesco Cerullo, asked the investigating magistrate to interview the victim in order to establish her definitive, detailed version of Sunday’s horrific experience, to be used as evidence during the trial against the three youths. She had bravely begun investigations herself with the help of Facebook, determined to obtain justice. Found on the social network After recognizing and identifying her assailants on Facebook, she showed their

The Four Witches

Image
The Four Witches  (German:  Die Vier Hexen ), or  The Four Naked Women , [1]  or  The Four Sorceresses [2]  or  Scene in a Brothel , are titles given to a 1497  engra ving  by the German Renaissance artist  Albrecht Dürer . One of his earliest signed engravings, [3]  it shows four nude, exuberant women gathered conspiratorially in a circle in a confined interior setting, perhaps a bath house, [4]  which appears to have entrances from either side. Although clearly erotic, a small horned demon, perhaps representing temptation, [5]  is positioned in the left hand portal, peering out and holding what may be a hunting object, and is engulfed in flames. Although the engraving has been subject to prolonged and significant scholarly analysis, it remains enigmatic, and there is nothing in his later writings to indicate his intent. [6]  There is no consensus as to its subject matter or its intended meaning, with art historians associating it with either  witch hunting  or figures from cl

A woman has come up with an ingenious way of staying fit during lockdown by tethering herself to one end of her paddling pool so she can go swimming

Image
Dedicated Jennie Jones attached a tether to the garden fence and climbed into a large paddling pool – meaning she can swim for as long as she wants, without going anywhere. It’s like a watery version of a treadmill. The 41-year-old, from Bradford-on-Avon, is an open water coach and PT at her business ‘BOAfit’ – so when lockdown was announced, she knew she needed to find a way to continue to do what she loves. Jennie has posted her amazing invention online for all to see – she wanted to keep her clients inspired and show that there are ways to stay active during this time. All you need is a little creativity My life is swimming,’ says Jennie. ‘I’m a member of my local swim club – BOA ASC – so swim with them three times a week, then teach seven sessions a week, then swim a couple of times in open water now it’s warmed up a bit.’ In short, it was basically unthinkable that Jennie could spend weeks on end without getting in the water. ‘Basically, I spend most of my time in the water,’ she

Lunatic mother chewing on some bread after delivery Photo: Obededom Ajakaiye Residents of Shodipo Estate, Agbara, Ogun state had their eyes on stalks Friday morning as they trooped to watch a healthy and beautiful baby girl brought to life by a female lunatic. The incidence seemed bizarre to some who were amazed that a beautiful healthy baby was born by a lunatic while others believed it was simply a miracle from God. It was gathered from eyewitnesses that she had allegedly fled to Shodipo for refuge after having four of her babies abducted by unidentified people. Though it is not known when or where she put to bed, some residents speculated that it must have been at midnight or early hours of Friday due to the state of the woman and baby. In his account, Comrade Femi Okeowo, a resident who rescued the the baby girl f

The Victim Who Became the Accused

Waters, the only Black female cop in her department, said, “Something happened, you know, and I don’t remember all of it.”Photographs by Ryan Cardoso for The New Yorker Put-in-Bay, a village on an island off the northern coast of Ohio, is sometimes called the Key West of the Midwest. In the winter, the population is roughly three hundred, nearly all white. In the summer, hundreds of thousands of tourists arrive by ferry or private plane to drink at the island’s fifty-two bars. Men celebrating bachelor parties go around in golf carts, carrying inflatable naked women. The police chief told me that he’s known as “the guy who pulls people over and deflates the blow-up dolls.” In July, 2020, Arica Waters, the only Black female cop on the island, was invited to a pool party. She was twenty-seven and had been hired five weeks before, as a seasonal employee without benefits. She was ebullient and quick to make friends. “Some people say, ‘Oh, Waters is a flirt,’ ” she told me, “but that’s just

How an Oscar and a sex scandal rattled Gloria Grahame's career

Image
Gloria Grahame arrived at the 25th Academy Awards on the verge of superstardom. It was March 19, 1953, and the 29-year-old had spent the previous year melting away a tart-with-a-heart image that took root with the 1944 sex comedy Blonde Fever and crystallized with her sultry turn as Violet in It's a Wonderful Life with James Stewart. She'd appeared in four major releases in 1952, including a reunion with Stewart in Cecil B. DeMille's The Greatest Show on Earth—which ultimately won Best Picture. Her Hollywood peers recognized her arrival as a serious actress, nominating her performance in The Bad and the Beautiful for a Supporting Actress Oscar, her second career nod following 1947's Crossfire. When presenter Edmund Gwenn called Grahame's name as the winner, however, she carried herself to the stage atop quivering heels, with a deer-in-the-headlights expression plastered on her face. She accepted with four words, "Thank you very much," before rushing out o

Were Christians Really Persecuted in the First Century?

Image
In the first century, Christians were crucified, burned, and thrown to the wild animals simply for proclaiming the name of Christ. This was a period of immense persecution, and if Christians wanted to survive, they had to hide out from the governing authorities.” While there is some truth in this statement, it is certainly an overstatement. Yes, Christians were persecuted, but in the first century, most persecution was local and sporadic. While there is a temptation to overstate the evidence for persecution in the first century, there is also a pattern of critics who understate the evidence. In my recent book, The Fate of the Apostles, I make the case for the willingness of the apostles to die for their faith, which shows the depth of their sincerity. They really believed Jesus had risen from the grave, and they were willing to give their lives for it. This claim is strengthened if there is evidence that Christians were actually persecuted in the first century. So, what’s the evidence

Gilles de Rais: History’s First Serial Killer?

Image
Even if there had been nothing else unusual about the Breton nobleman Gilles de Rais (1404–40), his outstanding career as a soldier in the Hundred Years’ War and as a comrade in arms of Joan of Arc would have been enough to guarantee his place in history. Today, though, those achievements can only be seen in the shadow of the secret life he led as the perpetrator of more than a hundred gruesome child murders, a rampage which made him arguably the first serial killer in recorded history. The early life of Gilles de Rais was marked by tragedy. Both his parents died about 1415: his father, Guy de Laval, was killed in a gruesome hunting accident that de Rais may have witnessed, and his mother, Marie de Craon, died of an unknown cause. He was raised by his maternal grandfather, Jean de Craon. As a young man, de Rais seems to have been impetuous and hot-headed, characteristics that translated well to the battlefield, where he was by all accounts a skilled and fearless fighter. When Joan of

Tracking Down The Kandahar Giant Of Afghanistan

Image
Army officers have told stories about entire troops going missing in the mountains of Afghanistan in the early 2000s, only to find their gear in a mysterious cave with no soldiers to be found anywhere. There’s also a solid rumour about the giant fellow with two sets of teeth driving a spear through the heart of a soldier after being threatened in his cave. Because of this, a squad with high-powered rifles supposedly shot down the giant with 30 seconds of sustained fire. Then, as the legend has it, the army put the dead giant in a helicopter, flew away with him, and he was never seen again. Not only that, but the story itself was squashed as the soldiers were all required to sign NDAs. All of this supposedly happened in Kandahar, Afghanistan in or around 2002. The rumours have not stopped since. You’ll first find the word “giant” in Greek mythology dating back to 1297. The original word was “Gigantes” and they were giant beasts who opposed the gods. The giants, according to mythology,

Is plane sex illegal? Laws and rules for if you’re caught having sex on a flight revealed – and you could get in MUCH more trouble on some planes

Image
A randy couple were recently caught having sex on board a Virgin Atlantic flight to Cancun - and the moment they were caught was captured on video. The woman then went on to have a fight with a friend – and was greeted by Mexican police when the plane landed due to “disruptive” behaviour. So would you get in trouble if caught? Whether you could be arrested or not largely depends on the aircraft that you’re flying with - and where it's registered to. A spokesperson from the Civil Aviation Authority told Sun Online Travel: “On board the aircraft, it is the law of the country where the aircraft is registered that applies." They continued: “If the aircraft is registered in the UK, then UK domestic law applies, so it is the aircraft that counts and not the nationality of the airline.” The CAA went on to tell us that people caught having sex in public in the UK could be arrested for the criminal offence of Outraging Public Decency – which could also be applied in an aircraft. Mile High Club in the last row: Shocked husband and wife share video of couple having sex on holiday jet

Image
A couple on holiday got some unexpected in-flight entertainment when a couple sitting two rows behind appeared to be having sex. The video was posted on Twitter by a Kiley Tully who claimed the the video was taken by her parents on a trip to Mexico My mom and dad were just trying to have a peaceful trip to Mexico and then they sent me this.’ Silver Airways confirmed the video was taken on one of its flights and were working to confirm its authenticity but did not condone the type of behavior.  In the video, the couple hold up a phone and film the pair behind them making an enthusiastic bid to join the Mile High Club. Seemingly oblivious to the other passengers on the plane, a woman appears to be straddling her companion on a seat at the back of the plane. The camera then pans across the cabin of the small aircraft to reveal the other passengers, none of whom appears to have spotted what is happening. The video has now been seen 3.25 million times, though it is unclear exactly where Tu

100-hour working weeks, sex below deck... and what they REALLY think of passengers: Confessions of a cruise ship worker

Image
It sounds like the dream job, travelling the world from port to port on a grand all-expenses-paid tour. But life working on a cruise ship could be considered one of the hardest roles in the world, with 100-hour weeks, three-month stretches with no days off and wages so low that workers rely on tips. So perhaps it is no surprise that life below deck consists of riotous parties, frequent liaisons and heavy drinking... despite the cramped shared cabins. One American who tried life on the high seas has penned a warts-and-all book about his experiences.  Brian David Bruns now lives in Las Vegas, but before settling down he abandoned everything at the age of 30 to chase a fellow female cruise worker to sea, became the first American in Carnival Cruise Line history to complete a full contract without quitting. The result of his experience was a tell-all book, Cruise Confidential, documenting what it's really like to work on a ship.  MailOnline Travel caught up with be

The statement read, “Our aircraft developed a technical issue prior to take-off in Germany on Sunday evening. “As a result, we remained in Wolfsburg overnight on Sunday before flying back to England on Monday afternoon. Passengers onboard diarrhea plane share ordeal: ‘It was dribbled down the aisle, smelled horrible’

Image
Grossed-out passengers have detailed the ordeal of being stuck on a Delta flight that was forced to turn back after someone could not contain their explosive diarrhea — which left crew ripping out the carpet to contain the “biohazard.” “It was an experience that I hope no one has to go through,” Marie Beals-Basinger  told the Daily Mail  of the flight that was diverted back to Atlanta on Friday, just two hours into its eight-hour trek to Barcelona, Spain. “I hope the poor woman that had this experience recovers,” she said of the sickened passenger. The pilot of Flight DL194 had warned air traffic control there was “a biohazard issue” with “a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the airplane.” The flight was met by emergency vehicles and EMTs carried the sick passenger off the plane,” Dee W added. “After the plane landed, it was thoroughly cleaned. They didn’t leave until around 2:30 a.m.” John Hudt, who said he was also on the flight, described it as a “

I've seen dirty diapers, vomit, urine and blood hit the carpet': Passengers horrified after spotting woman sleeping on the FLOOR of a plane

Image
An airline passenger has been shamed for sleeping on the floor of a plane - while her male travel companion took up three seats. The pair were spotted in a picture, taken by a fellow flyer, after it emerged online showing the woman seeking a bed on the floor in between two rows of seats. But despite the exhausted travellers finding comfort during their flight, social media users have been left shocked by the duo's unusual sleeping spots Question: Would you ever lay on the floor of an airplane? But in other news, dude seems awfully chivalrous,' the admin of Passenger Shaming Instagram page said. Many were outraged over the man for not offering his seats to the woman, while other flyers were 'disgusted' over the 'dirty' things they have seen hit the carpet. Flight attendants have previously revealed how filthy the floors can really get.  'Flight attendants have seen everything from vomit to blood to spilt food hit that carpet,' cabi

I could have made you stay in Houston.' After the two continue to go back and forth over the wine the wom
