I've seen dirty diapers, vomit, urine and blood hit the carpet': Passengers horrified after spotting woman sleeping on the FLOOR of a plane

An airline passenger has been shamed for sleeping on the floor of a plane - while her male travel companion took up three seats.

The pair were spotted in a picture, taken by a fellow flyer, after it emerged online showing the woman seeking a bed on the floor in between two rows of seats.

But despite the exhausted travellers finding comfort during their flight, social media users have been left shocked by the duo's unusual sleeping spots

Question: Would you ever lay on the floor of an airplane? But in other news, dude seems awfully chivalrous,' the admin of Passenger Shaming Instagram page said.

Many were outraged over the man for not offering his seats to the woman, while other flyers were 'disgusted' over the 'dirty' things they have seen hit the carpet.

Flight attendants have previously revealed how filthy the floors can really get.

'Flight attendants have seen everything from vomit to blood to spilt food hit that carpet,' cabin crew Linda Ferguson said.

'We see people walking from their seats into the bathrooms all the time barefoot and we cringe because those floors are full of germs.'

Another flight attendant previously urged airline passengers to never walk into the toilet bare feet.

'I promise you, nine times out of 10, that is not water on the floor,' she said.

'The toilets are often absolutely disgusting and get deep cleaned only at the end of a route.

'For us, this could be from one side of the world to the other… imagine how lovely they are at the end of a 12-hour flight with 200 people using them.'

Just think her face is on the floor where people have been putting their feet and dirty diapers,' one commented.

One revealed: 'Trust me, many dirty diapers and bare baby a**es have graced those seats too.'

Another said: 'I've seen men urinating on the floor too, so there's that. And yes, that's plural; I'm not even a flight attendant.'

And another added: 'Floors are filthy, you never know what people have been walking in before getting on the plane gross.'

Other people seemed more outraged over the man's actions.

'What's more obvious for me here is the fact the guy is on the comfier seats and the girl is on the floor,' one said.

Another commented: 'Someone does not know the definition of chivalrous if that is the guy on the seat.'

But others jumped to the couple's defence.

'I disagree, laying across that bar on the seat would be much more painful than the flat floor,' one said.

Another commented: 'Been there, done that...only with a blanket though. I'm impressed with the amount of leg room on this flight more than anything.'

'When you are 20 hours into the 25-hour flight from Australia to the UK, the floor looks very comfortable,' one said.

One said: 'Leave them alone. You don’t know how many hours they have been up in what they went through before they got on the plane. Worry about something else.'

And another added: 'I flew when I was six months pregnant. I got so sick. The flight attendants made me a little bed on the floor to help me out. If I had to I would lay there again.'

It's unclear how long the woman slept on the floor for given the fact that flight attendants are strict on passengers being out of their seats for a long period of time.

The latest passenger shaming comes just weeks after an airline passenger was shamed a fellow flyer for 'rudely' hanging her blonde hair over the back of her seat and blocking the entire screen of the person behind them.

An Australian man, known only as David, shared a picture of the female passenger on Facebook, revealing how she had her hair flicked back over the headrest while watching an in-flight movie.

'How rude. Where's a pair of scissors when you need them?' one said.

Another added: 'That's why they don't let you take scissors on board. I'd ask politely to remove it and if she didn't then I'd be removing it for her myself. One strand every minute.'

A third person then chimed in: 'I'd have that s*** under control in a heartbeat, incredibly selfish and rude.'

'It's a shame scissors aren't allowed on planes. I'd cut it nice and straight just above the TV,' another commented.
