The burial ceremony of nine dead people

The burial ceremony for nine people who died last night in a road accident in Zomba has taken place at Mpondas in Mangochi in the afternoon today.

The nine died after the vehicle they were traveling in from a wedding ceremony overturned at a bridge near Domasi in Zomba.

Minister of Local Government Richard Chimwendo Banda expressed shock with the deaths which he described as tragic for the country.

Chimwendo Banda said president Lazarus Chakwera has directed that the deceased families be provided with maize for three months considering that most of the people that have died are parents who were supporting their families.

He also asked people with the village to support the affected families so that the deceased children do not feel the gap left by loss of their parents.
