Iran is behind Hamas attacks on Israel – Israeli Ambassador

In the midst of escalating tensions between Israel and Palestine, Israel's ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has pointed the finger at Iran, alleging its orchestration of Hamas' aggressive actions against Israel, according to Nigerian Tribune. Freeman, speaking on Channels Television's Sunrise Daily, contended that Iran's financial backing and authorization were driving the conflict with the aim of destabilizing the region surrounding Israel.

It’s a major concern for us. We know that Iran is behind these attacks by Hamas. Iran are the ones who gave permission. Iran are the ones who fund Hamas. They are doing everything in order to destabilize the region. They are also backing Hezbollah and Lebanon; they are backing other terror groups in the West Bank. They are backing terror groups in Syria. Iran is doing everything because they don’t want to see progress. They don’t want to see peace, they want to see death and destruction,” he expressed.

The conflict has claimed over 1,100 lives, with Israel reporting over 600 casualties and Gaza's health ministry citing 370 fatalities. Ambassador Freeman emphasized that Israel's primary objective is not war, but safeguarding its citizens. He affirmed their commitment to defending their population while expressing a desire for de-escalation.

Freeman lamented the harrowing scenes circulating on social media, decrying the loss of innocent lives. He stressed that Israel's actions are driven by the necessity to protect its population from a conflict initiated by Hamas.

Furthermore, Freeman refuted any just cause for the conflict, attributing it to Hamas' ideology, which seeks the annihilation of Israel. He asserted that their fundamental mission is to eliminate Israel and its citizens.
