Bigfoot' is spotted walking through the shrubs on rural Colorado mountain as astonished train passengers record latest sighting of the mythical beast
This is the astonishing moment train passengers claimed to have spotted bigfoot walking through shrubs on a Colorado mountain.
During a Narrow Gauge train ride from Durango to Silverton on Sunday, a passenger looking for elk with her husband was distracted by a hairy creature instead.
Shannon Parker from Cheyenne, Wyoming was with her husband Stetson Tyler when Tyler said, 'I think I saw bigfoot'
Another passenger named Brandon saw the couple react and decided to pull out his phone to record the mythical beast.
'The ever-elusive creature Bigfoot,' Brandon said as he took the video.
The video shows the creature prowling around the hillside just before he squats down into a seated position.
Soon the alleged Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch camouflages into the dark brown shrubs around him as he moves back and forth and looks toward the steam engine train.
'He still moving?' a passenger said in the background.
'He can stand up,' said another passenger.
The video then loses sight of the mythical human-like creature as the train chugs along.
Parker told Newsweek that it was a 'once in a lifetime opportunity' and that her and Tyler had never seen anything like it before.
'When we spoke to the conductor on the train he told us he hasn't ever seen anything like it before and he himself has experienced unexplainable things while snowshoeing in those mountains,' Parker said.
The video has been shared all over social media and has attracted mixed reviews. Some people believe it was a legitimate encounter while others think it was a hoax.
Out There Colorado posted the video to their X account, and it has since amassed over 3,000 likes and over 1,000 re-posts.
'They are elusive because they take their costumes off after you get your shot,' on comment said.
My first thought was military camouflage, maybe something worn by sniper/recon, but it’s most likely just Bigfoot,' a commenter said.
Others simply posted comical memes and GIFs in response to the most recent spotting.
In August a video from 2015 of another Bigfoot siting resurfaced that Josh Highcliffe, a hunter captured.
Highcliffe posted the video to his YouTube Channel as other Bigfoot hunters agreed it was the best footage of the legendary creature they had ever seen.
The footage filmed nine miles west of Tunica, Mississippi, according to Highcliffe showed a huge, broad-backed creature that resembled something like a gorilla in the background, pulling bark off the trunk of a tree.
The story of Bigfoot dates back to 1958 after journalist Andrew Genzoli, of the Humboldt Times, highlighted an entertaining letter from a reader about loggers in northern California who had discovered mysteriously large footprints.
The discovery was soon found to be a hoax after Ray Wallace revealed it was a prank back in 2002.
That moment marked the birth of the mysterious creature's name.
Ten years ago, it was reported that genetic testing had confirmed that Bigfoot was a human relative that arose some 15,000 years ago.
The work of the report was done by Texas veterinarian Melba S. Ketchum.
